Se
incluyen algunos aspectos normativos para el diseño sismorresistente de
la mampostería contenidos en la parte III del Reglamento INPRES-CIRSOC103
(actual reglamento argentino). Se examina lo relativo a la determinación
de parámetros básicos de resistencia de la mampostería (a compresión y al
corte). Luego se describen y analizan los ensayos realizados sobre muros
de mampostería encadenada (con y sin aberturas) aplicando cargas horizontales
reversibles. Se estudia el comportamiento resistente histerético y deformacional.
También se presentan los resultados obtenidos sobre algunos de los especimenes
que fueron reparados con acero y microconcreto y posteriormente ensayados.
Finalmente se formulan algunas conclusiones derivadas de los estudios realizados
referidos al comportamiento sismorresistente de la mampostería. |

Uno
de los problemas más serios que enfrenta al país es el déficit en vivienda.
Para abatirlo será necesario emplear técnicas tradicionales de construcción,
así como procedimientos y materiales semi-industrializados e industrializados.
Uno de los atributos que deben tener las viviendas es la seguridad estructural,
en particular, ante efectos sísmicos. En este trabajo se recopilan cuatro
artículos de investigaciones recientes sobre seguridad sísmica de la vivienda
económica. Se presenta una descripción y discusión de la práctica de diseño
y construcción de mampostería en México. Se incluyen los resultados de la
evaluación de las características estructurales de conjuntos habitacionales
de interés social en México, los cuales serán usados para orientar futuros
estudios. Finalmente, se describen las dos primeras fases experimentales
desarrolladas en el CENAPRED, y se evalúan los resultados obtenidos y las
repercusiones para la práctica de diseño y construcción de estructuras de

7-98), gives requirements for dead, live, soil, flood, wind, snow, rain,
ice, and earthquake loads, and their combinations, that are suitable for

of ASCE 7-95. Substancial changes were made to the wind, snow, earthquake,
and ice provisions. In addition, substancial new material was added regarding
the determination of flood loads. The structural loading requirements provided
by this standard are intended for use by architects, structural engineers,
